Jakarta is one of the busiest and most packed city in Indonesia. We have approximately 10,187,595 people inhibiting the 661 km square area. There are 6 cities in Jakarta (because actually, Jakarta is a province) : North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, East Jakarta, South Jakarta, West Jakarta, and Thousand Islands.

There are at least 31 major malls scattered on every corner of this big city and counting. Theres an amusement park, salt water aquarium, fresh water aquarium, national monument, 59 museums, and countless places you can hangout from street vendors to first class restaurants.

Get prepared to explore the city's hustle and bustle, and discover new things you haven't experienced before.

Little tips before exploring :

1). Jakarta is humid throughout the year. Indonesia only has two season : sunny and rainy. But sometimes, even though it's sunny in the morning, rain pours on the afternoon. So two things you should not forget to bring are a bottle of water and a small umbrella.

2). There are many public transportation options for you in Jakarta, ranging from taxis, TransJakarta, trains, buses, bajajs, becaks, and angkots. Aside from TransJakarta and trains, other public transportation drivers doesn't always carry around a lot of small changes. So if you plan on discovering Jakarta with public transportations, make sure you have small change in your purse.

3). Travel safe. If you carry backpacks, tote bags, a purse or a wallet, place them in front of you or on your lap whenever you're riding a public transportation or walking down the street sidewalk. Do not wear micro pants, mini skirts, tank tops or too much jewelry as well especially at nights, as they attract thieves and other bad people. Yes, Jakarta has thieves as well. So don't forget to bring your cardigan with you. Also, most public transportations in Jakarta stopped operating after 11 pm. So if you have to travel after that hour, we suggest you take a taxi instead. There are two major taxi company in Jakarta, you can e-mail us for their contact.

4). Stay fresh. The weather in Jakarta will make you sweat a lot especially outdoors. We always bring face mist or wet facial wipes in our purse to refresh ourselves after taking public transportations. But don't worry, there are a lot of air conditioned malls and other great places to hang out in Jakarta without feeling hot and jittery as well. Most of these places opens until around 10 pm, and others until 2 am. Sometimes even later when there's events like late night shopping. So, stay fresh until drop!

Have a pleasant adventure in Jakarta!
